Step 1: Go to the Google Account and then sign into the Google Custom Search Engine page.

Step 2: Click on the New search engine link.

Step 3: Fill in your site URL, language, and name, then click Create button.

Step 4: It will provide a code snippet that will help to plug into our site. After clicked on create button then click on the get code button

Step 5: Copy the search results code for use in our dedicated page.

Step 6: To display the search results on a dedicated page, you will now create a new WordPress Page for the search results.

Step 7: Go to the Dashboard click on Pages, then click Add New.  Give your page a title.  Click the Text tab and paste the code shown above into the page body.then Click Publish button.

Step 8: If you like your site search box to be at the top of the sidebar.  We can do this using a widget.  From the WordPress Dashboard screen click Appearance, then click Widgets.

Step 9: Thesis 2 has provided a Thesis >>Google Custom Search widget in the list of Available Widgets.  Click and drag this widget to the top of the Sidebar widget box on the right side of the screen.

Step 10: Give it a title then paste in the Google search code that we copied above.  Click the Save button.

Step 11: Your Google Custom Search Engine is now on your site.  Refresh your home page to see the search function.

Step 12: Enter any think related to your site and then click on search button. You should see the results appear on the search results page you just created.
