How to add Query boxes to the home page

A Query box is one box in the thesis that can be used to display content from posts, pages or custom post types. Query boxes contain questions. The first one is, What post content do you want to display?. The second one is, What elements of that post do you want to display?.  It also allows you to choose the number of posts to be displayed on the particular page. Query boxes are one of the most fundamentally powerful elements in thesis 2.

Steps to add Query boxes to the home page

Step 1: Go to the Thesis 2 Skin Editor  HTML Homepage.

Step 2:  To add Query box you have to use the Thesis 2 “Add Boxes” function.

Step 3: On the right side of the Thesis skin editor you have “select box to add” drop down box. Click the drop-down and select “Query box”.

Step 4:  After selecting the Query box you have to name the Query box and click the blue “Add Box” button.

Step 5: Shift- click and drag the new Query Box over top of the container where you need and drop it on the container.

Step 6: You can see the “gear” in the above and click on the gear. After the click on Options tab and choose the post type, query type and a number of posts to display.

Step 7: Click on save templateNow refresh your home page in your browser.

Step 8: Now refresh your browser on your home page and you will now see the post in your site.
